about

a drifting, enigmatic, and chilled out collection of largely lofi and techno-inspired beats.

this album was inspired by dreams i've had throughout my life. thank you to my family and friends, for accepting me, and the ways i frequently change, and grow.

story:
the sea creature dressed in indigo robes and vibrant purple sunglasses stands on the grass mound, their magic producing a low hum in the air around the construct of their body, clothing and lenses. in their left hand they intermittently clutch a small steel gear, which tumbles playfully as they flick it confidently into the air at a steady rhythm. their electric yellow eyes wrapped in thick folds of mottled mud coloured skin stare unblinking at the peaks of the mountains as the sky begins to emit a familiar pale glow. then, in a moment, the flicking stops entirely. they move to lean their back into the firm spine of a tree trunk, look around suspiciously, and quickly curl out their lengthy tongue to lick each of their eyes. soon the flicking of the gear begins again, more urgently this time. ocean is calling them back, but they are always tired of that inescapable whining of boats, the sounds they make as they beat against old docks, and the scent of filth glued to the currents, those oily residues clinging to their gills. a huge pink muscle car goes roaring by, coughing up fumes and screeching profanity. the creature lets loose a gruff huff in disdain. at least up on land the sounds are muted to their ears, smells become barely perceptible, and there can be the condensation of clouds they love to behold. unfortunately the transformation could never last more than a few hours, and could not be held in the intensity of the mid sun. in the semi-dark of clear nights by city lights they will drink from the moon and starlight to replenish their power. they expend much of their magic to aid injured creatures, collect poison from shellfish, and transmute trash from the seafloor into harmless rocks. once there were so many healthy communities of their kind in and around these inlets, but most have taken to hiding in the depths of the ocean to escape the cacaphony of the cities. this one stays despite the discomfort, stubbornly circling at a problem they will never solve alone. at the end of their day, near dawn, they slip through the boundary between home and humans to await the sunrise' invigorating beams like this. time and power meant little to them until civilizations began to rise and fall. with a snort, they remove a slender chain from their neck and thread the gear onto it, turning to wobble back down towards the waves. their head bobs side to side nervously before they slither out of their magic and slip beneath the surface to become invisible again.
